As Manifold prepared to scale, the founding team made an intentional decision: they would not grow the company without meaningfully improving diversity across the organization — particularly within engineering.
In a web3 ecosystem known for severe representation gaps and highly competitive hiring dynamics, achieving that goal would require far more than traditional recruiting tactics.
Over a 9-month partnership, Invenio embedded directly into Manifold’s team to help scale engineering and product hiring while building one of the more intentionally diverse technical teams in the web3 ecosystem.
The result: 11 hires, including 6 diversity hires, within one of the most difficult talent pools in tech.
Manifold’s hiring goals extended beyond simple headcount growth.
At the time, the company’s team consisted of eight employees, with leadership recognizing the need to address representation intentionally as the organization scaled.
Leadership viewed diversity hiring as a foundational organizational priority, not a secondary initiative. That meant recruiting strategy itself needed to be redesigned around those goals from the beginning.
Having previously worked with members of the founding team, Invenio was able to integrate quickly into Manifold’s operating environment and hiring culture.
Rather than relying on generic outbound recruiting strategies, Invenio partnered closely with leadership to build a web3-specific hiring approach intentionally designed to expand access to underrepresented talent pools.

Importantly, all non-diverse hires were completed within the first two months of the engagement. Following that phase, the company committed fully to a diversity-focused hiring strategy moving forward - requiring significantly more specialized sourcing, outreach, and community-building efforts throughout the remainder of the partnership.
Because the recruiting function operated directly inside Manifold’s workflows and communication channels, the team was able to move quickly on calibration, process iteration, and candidate engagement while maintaining a highly personalized candidate experience.
