I had the chance to work with Mathew and his team at Invenio shortly after stepping into a new role with multiple technical positions to fill. Two of the founders (a health data scientist and a product engineer) had parents managing multiple medications who relied heavily on pharmacists for care. With the rise of online pharmacies and automated dispensing, they saw the growing need for pharmacists. As the most accessible yet underutilized healthcare professionals, there was an opportunity for pharmacists to shift beyond the traditional retail model and to provide more healthcare services.
Shortly after they would be introduced to their third founder, a pharmacist herself with first hand experience in the barriers of delivering clinical services in a community pharmacy setting.
